Pediatric Regional Hospitalist – Akron Children’s Hospital Float

Akron Children’s Hospital is expanding our Pediatric Hospitalist program to provide regional coverage and ensure our families have convenient access to care close to home. We are seeking a BE/BC Pediatrician to provide high quality, in patient coverage at various locations throughout Northeast Ohio. This position will assist with coverage needs as a float hospitalist. Coverage will include Wooster Community Hospital in Wooster, OH, Aultman Hospital in Canton, St. Joe’s Hospital in Warren, Ohio, and Akron Children’s Beeghly campus in Boardman, OH. There is connectivity between the pediatric hospitalists and specialists from Akron Children’s Hospital for consults. This is a Full time position that offers flexible scheduling with 6.5 24 hour shifts scheduled per month. Coverage includes delivery room attendance, well newborn nursery, rounding on pediatric inpatients, and occasional ER consults.

NRP and PALS certification are required but will be provided for those not currently certified.

    Community Overview

    There is no residency requirement so candidates may choose to live in a convenient location. Sleeping quarters are provided during scheduled shifts. Many physicians live in or around the greater Akron and Cleveland areas.

Sports are a way of life in our region with many private and public golf courses as well as numerous lakes for fishing, boating and sailing.
