This is a 8 hour per week variable shift position.
Performs all Ultrasound procedures to capture images of the internal organs and tissues for the diagnosis and treatment of medical problems according to protocol and age specific needs. Responsible for the scheduling, performance and quality of ultrasound examinations. Communications with physicians, offices, nursing units, radiologists, and other employees are essential to the efficient daily operation of the department. Clerical duties in RIS, PACS, and NightHawk and hospital computer systems are associated with this position. Rotates call in the Ultrasound department. Provides coverage to other Radiology positions in the department as needed.
Preferred graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology. Graduate of an accredited school of Ultrasonography. Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) or Registry eligible may be hired with two years to obtain Ultrasound registration in Abdomen and Physics. A noncompliance of registry requirements may result in termination. Two (2) years experience preferred. Evidence of BLS (AHA certification). Strong communication (verbal and written), interpersonal and organizational skills required.
