Shift Information: Day Job
Professional nurse with advanced knowledge and assessment skills in a specialty area of pediatrics and Pediatric Psychiatry and Psychology.. Primary duties to be performed are to assist with medical management of patients on the Inpatient Psychiatric Unit. These duties will be performed on an inpatient basis as needed. Duties may also include medication management of patients on an outpatient basis. Demonstrates the role functions of nurse practitioner/ clinical nurse specialist, consultant, educator, researcher, and leader/change agent. Participates in Provider Call schedule and as such will be responsible for patient care after regular hours, both during the week and on weekends as scheduled. Contributes to nursing and the hospital through support of philosophy and objectives, educational efforts, research efforts, grant-funded efforts and leadership.
Registered Nurse licensed to practice in the State of Ohio. MSN in Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing or Family Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing. Certified as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner or CNS. ANCC certification required. Licensed to practice as an Advanced Practice Nurse in the State of Ohio. Minimum of three years experience in pediatric nursing. Ability to function independently while adhering to the Ohio Board of Nursing rules and regulations for Advanced Practice Nurses. Current certification to prescribe in the State of Ohio or eligibility to apply for certification. Current Health Care Provider BLS required. Advanced knowledge and assessment skills in the specialty area of Pediatric Psychiatry/Psychology preferred. Must be certified or become certified within six months of hire date in Nonviolence Crisis Intervention by the Crisis Training Institute or an equivalent program that addresses ways to de-escalate potentially violent incidents.
