Mental Health Therapist Regionalization (3)
Applies graduate-level clinical counseling skills/social work to the psychosocial assessment of individuals adolescents, families, and groups and provides graduate-level clinical social work/counseling interventions as appropriate to client needs in the context of the department. Ensures rules of the milieu are followed and safety is maintained by the clients. Provides case management for assigned cases to promote collaboration with community and hospital services. Seeks appropriate supervision based on clinical licensure requirements and as needed for practice and training.
Licensed Professional Counselor with Clinical Endorsement (PCC) and a Master's Degree in counseling from a CACREP accredited program (Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs) or a related field or Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW) with Master's Degree in Social Work from accredited Social Work academic program (Accredited by the Council on Social Work Education)...OR...Licensed Professional Counselor (PC) with Master's Degree in counseling from a CACREP accredited program (Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs) or a related field or Licensed Social Worker (LSW) with Master's Degree in Social Work from accredited Social Work academic program (Accredited by the Council on Social Work Education). Must be in the process or begin the process of obtaining independent status (LISW) or clinical endorsement (PCC) from the Ohio Counselor, Social Worker and Marriage and Family Therapist Board. Independent status or clinical endorsement must be obtained within 3 years of hire date. Minimum of one (1) year experience required or completion of Mental Health Therapy internship at Akron Children's Hospital division of Pediatric Psychiatry. Past clinical experience in a setting with adolescents, families and groups preferred. Strong communication (verbal and written), interpersonal, and organizational skills required. Computer skills are required.
