Schedule: 36 hours/week. Primarily Days.8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. 

Friday & Saturday: 3:00 p.m. - 1:30 a.m. (every 4th weekend)

 

Position Summary: 

Management of all digital images and hard copy films. These responsibilities include, but are not limited to: processing CD’s and routing of electronic images, scanning paperwork, merging patient exams and imaging, retrieval of films for intra and inter departmental use, digitizing paperwork and hard copy films into the Picture Archiving Communications System, (PACS) database as well as importing of images from outside CDs into the PACS database. Provides support to physicians, technologists, and additional staff during periods of system downtime and upgrades. Assists in ensuring all department, and hospital Compliance, HIPAA and JCAHO guidelines are met. Performs clerical duties and work flow processes in RIS, PACS, Exam Manager, OneView, Powerscribe, EPIC, ARIS, Matrix Ray and additional hospital computer systems associated with this position.
Greeting and registering outpatients for their appointments that include gathering and verifying accurate demographic and financial information.  Assisting with directing of inpatients, volunteers, and other hospital personnel as needed. Answers all incoming calls and facilitates communication with, but not limited to: patients, patient families, physicians, support staff and all Radiology modalities.
Responsible for verifying that all patients’ physician orders are received and scanned into EPIC. Ensures that orders received are correct and in accordance with Radiology guidelines and protocols. The ability to schedule basic Radiology exams as well as the scheduling of walk-in patients.
Completion of assigned tasks in the clerical and imaging areas, as well as other duties as assigned.

Position Qualifications: 


Associates degree with a healthcare or business focus with minimum one (1) years’ experience or Bachelor’s degree in related field. Or high school graduate or equivalent with two (2) years relative experience in a healthcare or business setting accepted. Medical terminology strongly preferred. Strong communication skills (verbal and written) with attention to detail, maintains a positive questioning attitude and is a forward thinker, ability to work independently and multi-task/prioritize in stressful situations while remaining professional, efficient, and accurate. Prefer experience processing CD’s and routing of electronic images, scanning paperwork, merging patient exams and imaging.
