Medical Assistant - Locust Peds

Mon - Fri 8a-430p
Assists in delivering individual care for a group of patients under the supervision of a licensed nurse. Assists in patient / family education with in their own capabilities and under the direction of a licensed nurse.
Locust Pediatrics scope of services include:
Direct patient care, continuity of medical care, care coordination within the medical home including refugees, children in the custody of Children Services, and children with special health care needs, parent and patient education and counseling, developmental screenings, depression screening for teens, postpartum.
Hours: Mon - Fri 8a-430pm with an occasional Saturday, possibility of 4 days/wk
Must be a High School Graduate or equivalent. Must have basic verbal and written communication skills and have completed a state approved Medical Assistant Program. Current Health Care Provider BLS training is required. American Heart Association (AHA) is the organization designated for BLS, ACLS, PEARS and PALS - for clarification see Department of Nursing Training Requirements for CPR and Resuscitation policy. Phlebotomy experience preferred, or able to successfully complete Phlebotomy training within the first 45 days of employment. Medical terminology and computer skills required.
Applicant must be self-motivated and willing to be a team player in a busy office that serves a diverse population of pediatrics ranging from newborn to age 21.
