LPN w/ Medication Card - Burn Unit (Part-Time Day)

(3) 8 hour shifts. Weekends/Holidays req
Assists in assessing, planning, and delivering nursing care for a group of patients under the delegation of a Registered Nurse. Assists in patient/family education as well as teaching staff members within her own capabilities and under the direction of a Registered Nurse. Provides to individuals and groups nursing care requiring the application of basic knowledge of the biological, physical, behavioral, social, and nursing sciences at the direction of a licensed physician, dentist, podiatrist, chiropractor, or registered nurse. Staff may be temporarily assigned to an area throughout the Akron Children’s Hospital enterprise, based on patient needs requiring similar knowledge and skill.
Graduate from an accredited school of practical nursing eligible for or currently licensed as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the State of Ohio with Medication Designation. Current Health Care Provider BLS training is required. PEARS is required for all LPN’s assigned to general care units, PALS, ACLS, TNCC and/or NRP is required within one year of hire for critical care areas, ED, Surgical Services, Sedation Services, and Transport. American Heart Association (AHA) is the organization designated for BLS, ACLS, PEARS and PALS for clarification see Department of Nursing Training Requirements for CPR and Resuscitation policy.
Preferred qualities: Experienced LPN's. IV Certification preferred. Wound care exp. preferred.
