The Division of Pediatric Psychiatry and Psychology in the Department of Pediatrics at Akron Children’s Hospital is pleased to announce an immediate opening for a pediatric psychologist. The selected candidate will divide their time between 2 pediatric subspecialties, providing both assessment and psychological interventions to children and their families, within multidisciplinary teams. Strong collaboration skills for working with physicians, nurses, social workers and other health care professional are essential. Enjoy a variety of clinical experiences with the opportunity to be involved in program development and enrichment in the following service areas:

·Healthy Active Living - joining a multidisciplinary weight management and bariatric program focused on the assessment and treatment of children and adolescents with weight management concerns. This team includes medical providers, a psychologist, exercise physiologist and dieticians.

·Sleep Medicine - joining a growing, dedicated multidisciplinary team which includes 2 physicians board certified in sleep medicine, one psychologist, an advanced practice medical provider, 2 nurses, and respiratory technologists.This position will continue to expand psychology related services within the present behavioral sleep medicine program.Areas of assessment and treatment include insomnia, circadian rhythm sleep disorders, and PAP compliance for the treatment of obstructive sleep apnea.

·Primary Care Integration - initiating programing of integrated psychological services to children, adolescents and families in our North Canton Regional Health Center, which includes a primary care clinic and various specialty medical services. This position would likely focus on providing brief assessment, consultation, and short-term empirically supported treatment to youth and families within a fully integrated pediatric primary care practice.

In addition, this position offers opportunities for training and supervising post-doctoral pediatric psychology fellows, including work within the general psychology inpatient Consultation Liaison Service

Requirements include a doctorate degree (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) in clinical psychology (child or pediatric emphasis preferred) from an APA-accredited doctoral program, completion of an APA-accredited internship (child or pediatric emphasis preferred), license eligibility in the State of Ohio, and a strong interest in evidence based pediatric psychology.Applicants who completed a post-doctoral fellowship in pediatric psychology are preferred.
