Pediatric Pathologist

Ohio based, Akron Children’s Hospital seeks a Pediatric Pathologist to join its growing team. Akron Children’s Hospital is the largest pediatric healthcare system in Northeast Ohio and was recently named by Modern Healthcare as the fastest growing children’s hospital in the nation!

Akron Children's has a full-service laboratory, offering tests ranging from routine chemistry screens, blood cell counts and microbiology cultures to those requiring sophisticated instruments and techniques. The tests, while geared to children, can be performed on specimens from any age patient.

Many sections of the lab participate in medical research and the evaluation of new tests and techniques.

Our laboratories for cytogenetics, molecular diagnostics, virology and electron microscopy, as well as our Neuropathology, renal pathology and fetal pathology services, are the only ones of their kind among area hospitals and serve as regional referral centers.The department’s Pediatric Pathology fellowship program provides exceptional training.Academic appointment at Northeast Ohio Medical University is available and commensurate with experience.

The successful candidate will have board certification in Pediatric Pathology and Anatomic Pathology; additional training in Clinical Pathology and/or Neuropathology is a plus.Join an established group of 8 Pathologists and one PhD director of Cytogenetics.This is a new position to support growth in the department.
