Akron Children's Hospital Pediatrics brings pediatric primary care for babies, children and teens to many northeast Ohio communities through our 27 pediatric offices. Join our established Lisbon practice of 1 pediatricians and 1 nurse practitioner. This is a busy practice that welcomes new graduates or established providers to step into a practice that they can continue to develop and grow.

Our offices follow standard hospital-based policies, while retaining the local culture of each practice.  Our physicians enjoy the use of EPIC as a system-wide integrated electronic health record. Our primary care offices will be PCMH certified in 2018. The Patient-Centered Medical Home is a model of care that puts patients at the forefront of care. PCMHs build better relationships between people and their clinical care teams. Research shows that they improve quality, the patient experience and staff satisfaction, while reducing health care costs.

Hospital Overview

Akron Children’s Hospital is the largest pediatric healthcare system in Northeast Ohio, serving over one million patients in 2016. We are nationally ranked by US News and World Report in six pediatric subspecialties, and offer an integrated healthcare delivery system. We are the only freestanding children’s hospital in Northeast Ohio and were recently named by Modern Healthcare as the fastest growing children’s hospital in the country. Centered around two free-standing pediatric hospitals and 27+ primary care offices, the Akron Children’s Hospital system provides services at nearly 90 locations across an urban, suburban and rural region of the Midwest United States.  The services and subspecialties at Akron Children’s Hospital span the entire scope of medical services available today – from routine and preventative care to emerging technologies in surgery and patient care.  

 

Community Overview

Lisbon is a village in Center Township located in Columbiana County in Ohio with a population of approximately 3,000. It is the county seat of Columbiana County and located in the Salem, OH Micropolitan Statistical Area, as well as the southern regions of the greater Mahoning Valley. The community is served by the Lisbon Exempted Village School district. The school’s athletic teams are known as the Blue Devils with the most heavily followed athletic programs being high school football and basketball. Other sports include track, swimming, golf, cross country, baseball, softball, volleyball, and cheerleading.

 

The Dulci-More Festival, a music festival dedicated to the Appalachian dulcimer and other traditional musical instruments, was inaugurated in 1995 and takes place each Memorial Day weekend at Camp McKinley, a Boy Scout camp near Lisbon. Lisbon also is the host city to the Columbiana County Johnny Appleseed festival.

 

There are several local universities offering a variety of degrees in higher education. Kent State University at East Liverpool and Kent State University at Salem compose Kent State University’s Columbiana County campus. The two campuses offer 26 degrees, including 12 bachelor’s degrees and serve more than 3,500 students annually. Youngstown State University offers comprehensive educational and research opportunities with 115 undergraduate and 40 graduate programs.
