Child Abuse Pediatrician – Akron Children’s Hospital Beeghly Campus (Boardman, Ohio)

Akron Children’s Hospital’s Department of Pediatrics seeks a full time BC/BE Child Abuse Pediatrician, or board certified pediatrician with interest in child abuse,  to join our established Child Advocacy Center in Boardman, Ohio.  The Child Advocacy Center, which is part of Akron Children's Hospital Mahoning Valley, provides a coordinated and comprehensive approach to the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of children and teens who may have been physically or sexually abused, as well as complete medical evaluations for kids in foster care. 

The division also includes centers in Akron, Stark County, as well as a telehealth partnership with the rural community of New Philadelphia. Each of the sites are Child Advocacy Centers certified by the National Children’s Alliance and utilize the practice standards established by the alliance. The Mahoning Valley Child Advocacy Center, located on the hospital campus, is a child-friendly facility that brings together professionals from law enforcement, child protective services, medicine, mental health, victim advocacy and the prosecutor’s office to provide a coordinated response of suspected child abuse and neglect.  Our multidisciplinary team ensures that each child’s needs are met in a confidential, non-threatening and child-friendly environment.
