Job Description

Pediatrician Opportunity, Akron Children’s Hospital Pediatrics (ACHP) Boardman - Generous Residency Stipend and Retention Bonus

Akron Children’s Hospital is expanding our Boardman office to meet the demand of regional growth.  Akron Children's Hospital Pediatrics (ACHP) brings pediatric primary care for babies, children and teens to many northeast Ohio communities through our 27 pediatric offices. We are seeking a full time BE/BC Pediatrician to join an established office of 4 physicians and 3 nurse practitioners to provide excellent outpatient care to our patients and families. This is a busy existing practice that moved to a brand new building and office in July of 2017. We welcome new graduates or established providers to step into a practice that they can continue to develop and grow. Our physicians enjoy the use of EPIC as a system-wide integrated electronic health record.

The 25-bed pediatric inpatient unit is covered by Akron Children’s Hospitalist service. Well newborn rounds, after hours call, and Saturday office hours are shared between the Boardman and Austintown practice making call approximately 1:7. Calls only reach the physician after being screened by our excellent after hours nurse triage phone line which handles more than 90% of the calls.

Our offices follow standard hospital-based policies, while retaining the local culture of each practice.  Our physicians enjoy the use of EPIC as a system-wide integrated electronic health record. Our primary care offices will be PCMH certified in 2018. The Patient-Centered Medical Home is a model of care that puts patients at the forefront of care. PCMHs build better relationships between people and their clinical care teams. Research shows that they improve quality, the patient experience and staff satisfaction, while reducing health care costs.

This opportunity offers:

  • Attractive guaranteed base salary
  • $2,500 monthly stipend during last year of training
  • Starting Bonus paid upon receiving medical staff privileges
  • $60,000 retention bonus ($15,000 after year 1, $20,000 after year 2, $25,000 after year 3)
  • Quality and Productivity Bonuses
  • Comprehensive benefits package
  • Occurrence based malpractice
  • Relocation assistance
  • Generous vacation and CME time/money
  • Student loan repayment strategies with Innovative Student Loan Solutions
