Paid time off
Time off helps maintain a strong work/life balance. From taking a vacation to celebrating holidays, managing personal appointments and obligations to staying home when you’re sick, PTO can also reduce stress.
At Akron Children’s, PTO hours are earned and accrue (yes, even for part-time employees) based on your job classification, date of hire, years of service and the number of hours you’ve been paid. Accrual rates increase at 3, 6, 13 and 18 years of service.
Professional advancement is dependent on an environment where learning is viewed as a priority. Akron Children’s goal is to provide resources that will support your career choice as well as your professional growth. Pathways include:
- One-on-one career coaching sessions (to begin exploring career opportunities or to research academic programs that align with your career goals)
- Career resources such as resume-writing, mock interviews, grad school prep and more
- Professional and leadership development courses, an Annual Education Expo and a Myers-Briggs Type Indicator session
