Social Worker II Behavioral Health Unit
Shift Information: Day Job
(4) 10 hour shifts
Provides clinical Social Work services to patients and families on the Inpatient Behavioral Health Unit. Services include psychosocial assessments, social psychotherapy, family therapy sessions and discharge planning. Collaborates with hospital and community patient care teams. Reports patient and family history and needs during unit rounds. Documents social work findings in the electronic medical record.
Licensed Social Worker (LSW) with Master’s Degree in Social Work from an accredited Social Work Academic Program. LISW is preferred. Prior social work clinical experience assessing and treating children and families coping with behavioral crises required. Must have strong clinical skills and work collaboratively with patient care teams. Preferred candidate will have experience working with suicidality, family dynamics, psychiatric conditions and victims of trauma. Computer skills are desirable. Must have superior written and verbal communication skills. Family systems, cognitive behavioral therapy and brief solution focused therapy experience is an advantage. Must have capacity to manage a fast paced environment that deals with patients and families experiencing high levels of conflict and distress.
