Our community. Our promises.

Since 1890, we've pledged to serve the children and families of our communities. Over time, our promise of care has evolved into multiple specialties, programs and services. We are now the largest pediatric healthcare system in Northern Ohio and one of the fastest growing in the U.S. Though we have grown, our mission, vision and promises remain at the heart of everything we do.

Our promises

To treat every child as we would our own

To treat others as they would like to be treated

To turn no child away for any reason

Safe Mobility Project

In March 2016, Akron Children's Hospital was awarded a $500,000 grant from the Goodyear Foundation to establish the Safe Mobility Project. Over the next three years, the Safe Mobility Project will educate and empower families to engage in safe behaviors through various efforts aimed at child passenger safety, bicycle safety and teen driving safety. From a baby's first ride home in an infant car seat, to a child's first bicycle, to the moment a teen is handed the car keys, the Safe Mobility Project aims to keep the children of Summit County safe and free from injury across the whole span of childhood.

Regional Foodbanks

Akron Children’s employees have supported foodbanks in the Akron-Canton area and Mahoning Valley through food drives and other on-site activities for several years.
