Summary:
The Buckeye Specialist is responsible for reviewing, organizing, and processing the Buckeye patient agendas. The Buckeye Specialist performs quality review of patient agendas, reviewing patient appointment history, PCP verification, upcoming scheduled appointments, etc. to ensure timely and efficient processing of the patient agendas. This position requires attention to detail to ensure information is accurately identified and easily accessible for all medical providers and care givers.
Responsibilities:
- Follows standard work procedure for printing, reviewing and preparing patient agendas for distribution.
- Remains current and knowledgeable on standard work processing for working in the Buckeye patient portal, downloading patient agendas, data entry into the portal, and processing all updated patient agendas.
- Maintains a working knowledge of using multiple systems when performing daily functions and responsibilities, i.e. Epic and Buckeye Patient Portal.
- Learn and maintain knowledge to produce reports from Buckeye patient portal to track patient agendas.
- Must be knowledgeable and practice strong attention to detail while performing quality review of patient agendas. This is a critical step to efficiently process patient agendas to providers and sites.
- Responsible for assisting the Indexing team during down times.
- Strong communication skills are a must. Open communication between team members to share best practices and trouble shoot issues. In addition, must be able to professionally communicate with site staff and managers as needed.
- The ability to work independently and as a team. This position requires the ability to self-direct and stay on task to complete daily functions. In addition, this position requires the ability to work as a team with daily/weekly huddles, instant messaging team members with trouble shooting questions, helping team members with their questions, etc.
- Knowledge of health care privacy regulations, including HIPAA, Joint Commission, etc.
- Other duties as required.
Other information:
Technical Expertise:
- Experience in healthcare, medical office, clerical or administrative, is preferred.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) or similar software is preferred.
- Proficiency in computer skills and knowledge required.
- Epic experience or electronic medical records experience is preferred.
- Must be detail oriented and have problem solving skills.
Education and Experience:
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent is required
- Years of relevant experience: 1 to 5 years is preferred.
