Summary:
The Director, ISD Compliance & Quality Assurance is responsible for the oversight of all I.T. quality assurance and compliance aspects.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and execute policies and procedures which govern Akron Children’s Hospital quality assurance and compliance programs.
- Evaluate adequacy of quality assurance standards and develop QA best practices to ensure all necessary practices, tools and templates are appropriately executed.
- Monitor and test policies and procedures to ensure they can result in compliance.
- Carry out risk assessments and compliance reviews to ensure policies and procedures are being followed.
- Recommend the initiation of investigative procedures in response to alleged violations of rules, regulations, policies, procedures, and the Code of Conduct.
- Conduct and document routine quality assurance audits to ensure that standards are being met.
- Evaluate audit findings and implement appropriate corrective actions.
- Collect, compile and analyze statistical quality data to identify trends, areas for improvement and to monitor corrective/preventative actions.
- Identify training needs and organize training interventions to meet quality standards.
- Assist with or leads management of contract negotiation and compliance.
- Ensure that the Akron Children’s Hospital complies with existing and developing federal and state laws and regulations
- Project management duties fifty percent of the time.

Technical Expertise
- Extensive and deep technical and legal understanding
- Experience in reading and applying regulations in a technical context.
- Experience assisting in or leading contract negotiations is required.
- Experience working with all levels within an organization is required.
- Experience in healthcare is preferred.
- Proficiency in MS Office [Outlook, Excel, Word] or similar software is required.
Education and Experience
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in related field is required; Master’s degree is preferred.
- Experience with implementation of corrective action programs.
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office, QA applications and databases.
- Knowledge of tools, concepts and methodologies of QA.
- Solid experience in effective usage of data analysis tools and statistical analysis.
- Certification: Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional (CCEP) is preferred.
- Years of relevant experience: 8 to 10 years is preferred.
- Experience interacting with federal and state regulators is preferred.
- Must possess extensive leadership capacity to develop, influence, direct, and manage teams, as well as influence/liaise with regulatory authorities.
