Summary:
The intern assists the Corporate Alliances and Special Events team in the planning and implementation of a wide range of special events and communication programs to support the goals and objectives of Akron Children's Hospital Foundation.
Responsibilities:
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Working with Foundation staff on special events, activities and fund raising projects. (55%)
- Working with Hospital volunteer organizations on over 80 special events, activities and fund raising projects. (25%)
- Reporting on community activities and special events in support of Akron Children's Hospital for www.akronchildrens.org and other Foundation oriented publications. (10%)
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned. (10%)
Opportunities to gain experience in:
- Event planning.
- Simple design of event flyers and collateral pieces.
- Proofreading, interviewing, researching and writing as assigned.
Other information:
The intern should possess skills in written and oral communications, be well organized and have the ability to relate to a wide variety of individuals, from volunteers to professionals. Experience with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel a must.
The intern must be able to work a minimum of 15 hours a week.
15-25 hours a week preferred.(Distribution of time illustrated below.) Some evening and weekend hours may be requested
