Summary:
The Lead Diagnostic Radiology Technologist performs all duties of the Radiologic Technologists. Under the direction of the Department Supervisor, the Lead oversees technical staff, procedures and workflow to ensure safe and effective patient care with the Radiology Department.
Responsibilities:
1. Leads and organizes the daily workflow for the team, adjusting staffing levels and resources to ensure timely and effective patient care, including handling call-offs and vacations.
2. Performs all radiologic technologist duties, ensuring high-quality imaging and patient safety. Acts as a resource for technologists and assists in troubleshooting technical issues.
3. Monitors and evaluates the quality of images, ensuring the proper technical factors and positioning are used. Coaches staff on best practices to improve image quality.
4. Ensures adherence to all safety protocols and regulatory requirements (JCAHO, HIPAA, ODH) and maintains a constant state of readiness for inspections.
5. Provides orientation, training, and ongoing education for technologists, students, and staff. Monitors competencies and offers remediation when necessary.
6. Communicates effectively with all levels of departmental personnel, physicians, and clinicians, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.
7. Oversees the use and maintenance of imaging equipment, ensuring that all quality assurance procedures are followed, and equipment is functioning properly.
8. Completes clerical tasks in RIS, PACS, NightHawk, and hospital systems. Assists in recruitment efforts and provides input for staff performance evaluations.
9. Assumes leadership responsibilities in the supervisor's absence and performs additional duties as assigned by the Department Supervisor, Radiologist, or Director of Radiology.

Technical Expertise
1. Experience in administrative work clinical and technical work required.
2. Must perform duties and adhere to the standards of a Radiographer.
3. Must be a role model and facilitator for staff on designated shift.
4. Experience working in collaboration with physicians and clinicians throughout the hospital.
5. Experience working with all levels within an organization is required.
6. Experience with Microsoft Office and OS preferred.
Education and Experience
1. Education: Graduate of an accredited school of radiologic technology required.
2. Licensed by the state of Ohio with BLS certification required.
3. Certification: Registered with ARRT required.
4. Years of relevant experience: Minimum 5 years is preferred.
5. Years of experience supervising: None.
