Summary:
The Post-Graduate Year 1 Pharmacy Practice Resident is a training position for Doctor of Pharmacy Degree graduates to learn provisions of general pediatric pharmacy which includes providing expert consultation to healthcare professionals and ensuring proper pharmacotherapeutics for all patients treated at Children's Hospital Medical Center of Akron.Responsibilities:
1. Performs the following duties under the supervision of a Clinical Specialist: evaluates and reviews drug regimen; monitors effects of drug therapy; provides drug education and counsels patients on appropriate drug use and storage; employs drug usage evaluation information to alter therapy effectively and participates in drug use evaluation programs; reviews, verifies, and prepares medication orders.
2. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care for the physical, psychological, social, educational, and safety needs of the patients served regardless of age.
3. Other duties as required.

Technical Expertise
1. Experience working with all levels within an organization is required.
2. Experience in healthcare is preferred.
3. Proficiency in MS Office [Outlook, Excel, Word] or similar software is required.
Education and Experience
1. Education: Doctor of Pharmacy Degree is required. Maintains 20 hours of Continuing Education per year including 1 hour from Ohio jurisprudence.
2. Certification: Current licensure by the Ohio State Board of Pharmacy is required.
3. Years of relevant experience: 3 to 5 years is preferred.
4. Years of experience supervising: None.
