Job Requisition Number 28677This is a hybrid position requiring on-site work 12 days per month during the first six months of employment. After that, the requirement shifts to 6 on-site workdays per month; however, based on business needs, additional on-site presence may be required.
Summary:
The Senior Instructional Design & Development Specialist leads the strategy and tactics for the organization related to the Learning Management System, standards in design and workflow to ensure high quality and innovative education. The Senior Instructional Design & Development Specialist works with Talent Development leadership to align strategies and work across the team, partner with subject matter experts to identify the target audience's training needs and develops content presentation formats that facilitate instructional education goals, including needs analysis, design, development, delivery, and evaluation.
Responsibilities:

1. Leads Instructional Design and Development team on quality and consistency of training standards, design, and use of technology.
2. Oversees the strategy of the Learning Management System to enhance education across the organization. Researching innovations in both learning design and education.
3. Acts as a subject matter expert on the Learning Management System and associated technologies to serve as a consultant and provide recommendations for best practice for dissemination of training and education.
4. Provides coaching and mentorship to team through feedback and evaluation processes of design work, customer feedback and standards.
5. Leads efforts to create innovative development experiences using modern instructional design methodologies to deliver education and training to support hospital staff effectively using multimedia, ensuring that all materials are consistent with learning principles.
6. Oversees and provides training on the functions of the LMS and assists with the orientation of new LMS administrators, instructors, and managers, as needed.
7. Develops quality metrics to ensure training success and accuracy of programs. Conducts evaluation research and analysis using LMS.
8. Collaborate with stakeholders to create, refine, and optimize LMS reporting to identify opportunities to enhance learning outcomes and facilitate compliance with accrediting organizations.
Serves as final check from instructional design point-of-view for developed education.
9. Maintains project documentation, and reporting and makes recommendations on educational best practices, instructional resources, instructional technologies, and multimedia hardware/software to support teaching and learning.
10. Collaborates with clinical and business departments throughout the organization to continue to improve utilization of LMS, while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.
11. Works with department leaders and/or talent management consultants to identify actionable steps and recommendations for training programs, including pre- and post-measurements to nurture a continuous learning culture.
12. Effectively manages vendor relationships and collaborates with vendors and contractors to identify and deliver trainings, which includes the support of organization department or project leads who seek to leverage the LMS to offer education and training.
13. Manage training records using Children's learning management system, including data entry, report generation and data integrity review to support understanding and use of the system; produces reports for the department showing employees who are approaching noncompliance or who are currently noncompliant, as well as no-shows for courses offered.
14. Effectively deal with sensitive information and occurrences, including service recovery and compliance issues.

Other information:
Technical Expertise
1. Strong understanding of current instructional design methodology, trends and tools, and application of adult learning theory.
2. Experience in developing, presenting, and evaluating online and/or classroom training programs is required.
3. Experience in adult learning principles is preferred.
4. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
5. Self-motivated, highly organized, and detail-minded with strong commitment to accuracy.
6. Experience working with multiple levels of an organization.
7. Proven experience in program development and evaluation.
8. Experience in healthcare is preferred.
9. Proficiency in MS Office [Outlook, Excel, Word] or similar software is required. LMS software is required.
10. Experience in course authoring tools and graphic design/multi-media creation including but not limited to Adobe Cloud suite, Captivate or Articulate 360 is preferred.
Education and Experience
1. Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred. Certification: Instructional Design Certification or relevant certification is required within one year of hire. Lean Six Sigma is preferred.
