Hybrid (Onsite 2-3 days/week)


Summary:

The Mid-Level Gift Coordinator represents Akron Children's Hospital to donors, prospects, employees, patient families, and volunteers throughout northeastern Ohio, as part of the overall effort to raise awareness of and generate financial support for the Akron Children's Hospital Foundation. This role has a specific focus on cultivating and stewarding Akron Children's mid-level donor demographic, securing annual gifts between $250–$24,999, identifying major gift potential, and encouraging sustaining and upgraded giving.

Responsibilities:

  1. Cultivate and manage relationships with mid-level annual donors, individual donors, and corporate donors to secure annual gifts between $250–$24,999, with a focus on identifying major gift prospects and encouraging sustained and upgraded annual giving through personal meetings (in-person or virtual), hospital tours, special events, and other engagement opportunities.
  2. Prepare written and verbal presentations and proposals; deliver information to potential funders; and represent Akron Children's Hospital at events, donor meetings, and check presentations.
  3. Manage all written communications with donors—letters, emails, stewardship reports, and coordination messages for donor visits—ensuring timely, accurate, and personalized outreach.
  4. Serve as a liaison to volunteer fundraising committees, advisory boards, and foundation boards; attend meetings, special events, and community events as an official representative of the hospital as assigned.
  5. Assist with select development events and activities that support the Foundation's fundraising and stewardship priorities.
  6. Accurately and promptly document all donor interactions, conversations, and contacts with donors, volunteers, Board Members, physicians, and hospital leadership in Raiser's Edge.
  7. Perform other duties as assigned.

Other information:

Technical Expertise

  1. Travel throughout northeastern Ohio and valid Ohio driver's license is required.
  2. Experience working with all levels within an organization is required.
  3. Proficiency in MS Office [Outlook, Excel, Word] or similar software is required. Database management software is required; Raiser's Edge software is preferred.

Education and Experience

1. Education: Associate's degree or equivalent is required; Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Public Relations, or related field is preferred.
