Full-Time: 40 Hours Per Week
1st Shift: 8am - 4:30pm
Monday - Friday
Location: Outpatient Behavioral Health - On-Site
Travel Required to Mahoning Valley Campus 3-4 Times Per Month

Summary:

The Workplace Safety Training Specialist is responsible for delivering the hospital's aggression management program and assessing participants in class and providing simulations in the clinical work environments.  The Training Specialist will focus on creating a culture of safety, trauma-informed care, and regulatory compliance. 

Responsibilities:

1. Delivers didactic, physical intervention skills, and safety equipment training to an interdisciplinary hospital audience.
2. Ensures competencies are tracked and collaborates with leaders to ensure compliance.
3. Provides feedback to staff and maintains appropriate documentation.
4. Delivers training on crisis response, de-escalation, and appropriate interventions, as applicable to organizational polices and standards.
5. Collaborates with clinical staff, public safety, and leadership teams to support workplace violence initiatives.
6. Evaluates and assists with creation of additional training opportunities specific to various work environments.
7. Travel between facilities or departments
8. Other duties as assigned

Other information:

Technical Expertise
1. Experience in planning, implementing, delivering and evaluating education is required.
2. Strong verbal communication skills, coupled with excellent presentation skills and ability to adapt training to diverse learning styles and varying professional backgrounds.
3. Strong organizational skills are required.

Education and Experience

1. Bachelor's degree in healthcare, education, psychology or related field; or HS diploma/equivalent and 8 years of relevant experience required.

2. Must be able to complete Aggression Management Trainer course.
3. Minimum 3 years' experience in providing training, teaching, or group facilitation.
4. Strong understanding of human behavior, crisis intervention, and de-escalation skills.

5. Experience in Healthcare is preferred.

6. Requires moderate physical activity
